Muse have unveiled a striking new video for their single ‘Aftermath’. The video is the result of Muse’son-going creative collaborations with Japanese director Tekken, who previously delivered eye-catching, flipbook-style animated videos for the band’s tracks ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3 (Redemption)’. The hand-drawn, monochromatic video for ‘Aftermath’ charts the experiences of a soldier after being parted from his family.
Muse’s current world tour in support of their seventh album ‘Drones’ is being heralded as one of the greatest arena shows of the modern era, with many critics praising the band’s explosive combination of thrilling musical ambition and jaw-dropping visuals. The European leg of the tour is firmly underway with five sold-out nights at London’s 21,000 capacity O2 and six sold-out nights in Paris already completed.
‘Drones’ has seen the band enjoy a phenomenally successful seventh chapter to their career. Released to some of their strongest reviews to date, ‘Drones’ topped the charts in 23 different countries including their first ever US #1 album. The album also saw the band earn their second Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
The remainder of Muse’s tour continues with dates including a six-night run in Milan and festival headline shows all over the continent. In addition, Muse will also continue their storied relationship with Glastonbury where they’re set to play their third headline set of their career on the Friday night – having previously headlined on the Saturday (2010) and Sunday (2004), Muse will be the first band to have headlined the festival’s PyramidStage on all three nights.

It was recorded at Church Studios in London and was produced by Paul Epworth.
In the year that marks the 40th anniversary of the punk movement, legendary US hardcore punk band, Dead Kennedys, have announced their only UK headline tour dates for October 2016.
Including a stop at O2 Academy Oxford and two intimate dates at O2 Academy Islington, general admission tickets and special 2 night bundle tickets for the O2 Academy Islington dates go on sale Friday 13th May at 10am via Ticketweb.
Dead Kennedys have triumphed since reforming in 2001. After a sold out night in the capital at KOKO in 2014, and a 2015 tour culminating in a show at London’s landmark venue, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the legendary San Franciscans return to the UK in 2016 an incredible 38 years after their formation, still going strong.
The line-up for the forthcoming live shows is; East Bay Ray (guitar), Klaus Flouride (bass), DH Peligro (drums) and Ron “Skip” Greer (vocals).
Formed in 1978 just two years after the officially recognised inception of punk rock in ‘76, the Dead Kennedys were a pioneering force in America’s punk movement in the late '70s and early '80s. As one of the defining hardcore punk bands of the time, they were the first to make a significant impact in the UK and have since become one of the most iconic. Their distinctive sound stood out and the influence of British punk could be heard in their music and their lyrics, which were often rooted in politics.
The group’s revolutionary spirit meant they were considered by some to be the most dangerous band in hardcore, even facing trial for explicit artwork in the mid-'80s, but the Dead Kennedy’s legacy has become far more dangerous. They have influenced countless artists and musicians, even though they were largely ignored by the mainstream media during the height of the band’s career, releasing four studio albums until they disbanded in 1986.

Radio, Scuzz TV and Team Rock Radiopresenter and punk fanatic Matt Stocks, before finishing up on Tuesday 11th October.
Commenting on the tour, Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Fiorello said: “Thanks to Fireball we were able to assemble a huge group of our friends on this tour from around the globe. We absolutely can't wait to come back to the UK shores for what will feel like one huge party every night, night after night."
Fireball UK brand manager James Pattison adds: “We’re extremely excited to be launching the first ever Fireball – Fuelling The Fire tour with such a strong line-up of incredible bands, we can’t wait to see you at the shows!”
After 24 years in the music industry and still going strong, there aren’t many bands with a legacy like Gainseville, Florida’s ska-punk pioneers Less Than Jake. A relentless touring and recording force, the quintet have recently released a new live album ‘Live From Astoria’ via Rude Records, a collection of Less Than Jake classics which was recorded exactly 15 years ago, on the third night of a three-day run at the legendary London venue in April 2001. They will also be appearing at this summer’s punk-rock institution, the US Warped Tour.
Described by Clash Music as “the torchbearers for modern British reggae music”, London quartet The Skints have been pioneering their UK take on Jamaican music since 2007 mixing reggae, ska, dub, punk rock, dancehall, soul, grime and hip-hop. Touring extensively across the UK, Europe and the USA, their album FM (2015) debuted at number 7 on the UK independent chart and they have appeared alongside the likes of You Me at Six, Easy Star All Stars, Sublime With Rome, Reel Big Fish, The Aggrolites, Gogol Bordello, The King Blues and Bedouin Soundclash.
As the alter egos of LA-based hardcore punks The Bronx, Mariachi El Bronx serve up authentic, Mexican-flavoured mariachi folk music in full costume. Time and again proving themselves to be one of the most exciting and forward thinking outfits on the punk circuit, to see The Bronx in mariachi mode is an intriguing but no less exhilarating experience. If there was any doubt as to the seriousness with which they approach the side-project it’s been firmly put to bed by their three critically acclaimed albums and numerous world tours under their new guise.

PET SHOP BOYS ANNOUNCE 2016 SUPER TOUR
NEW SINGLE ‘TWENTY-SOMETHING’ IS OUT JUNE 17
SUPER TOUR TO TAKE PLACE ACROSS NORTH AMERICA AND EUROPE FROM OCTOBER
UK TOUR DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON
“Punchy, urgent and laser-bright” - TheGuardian
“Do you think there’s a chance Pet Shop Boys might, at some point, stop being the greatest band of all time?” - Popjustice
“Thirteen albums in, still nothing and nobody like them” - Uncut Magazine
“The best British band ever” - Vice thump
Pet Shop Boys announce the first leg of their ‘Super’ tour, starting in October 2016 including shows in the United States, Canada, Germany, Holland, Denmark and Russia. More dates, including the UK, will be announced later this year.
The next single from the ‘Super’ album will be ‘Twenty-something’, released on digital and CD formats on June 17 - and the official video is available to watch above. It was directed by Gavin Filipiak, who caught the attention of Pet Shop Boys when he directed the video for a cover of ‘West End Girls’ by the US ‘Cholo Goth’ group, Prayers. His video for Pet Shop Boys places the “Twenty-something” of the song in the harsh reality of Sherman Heights, San Diego, and gives a new context and perspective to the single’s lyrics and themes.
The ‘Super’ tour shows will be staged by long-term PSB designer Es Devlin and choreographer Lynne Page. The live music arrangements will be by super-producer Stuart Price (who produced and mixed their latest album ‘Super’).
Over the last 25 years Pet Shop Boys have gained a reputation as innovators of the modern live music show. They were among the first to integrate multimedia and theatrical elements into their highly visual productions and they have collaborated with visionaries such as Derek Jarman, Zaha Hadid and Sam Taylor Johnson. Their live shows are always a visual spectacle that excites and provokes.
Out now on x2 Records (through Kobalt Label Services), ‘Super’ entered the Official UK Album Charts at number 3, marking their 16th UK top 10 album to date. It was written in London and Berlin and produced and mixed by Stuart Price in Los Angeles. It features 12 new Tennant/Lowe compositions including the lead single, 'The Pop Kids’. ‘Super’ is available on CD, vinyl and digitally.
THE TEMPER TRAP, JAGWAR MA AND DMA’S ADDED TO THE LINE UP – SELL OUT IMMINENT
Read MoreTom Odell will release his second album “Wrong Crowd” on June 10 via Columbia Records. The album, available to pre-order now, is the follow up to 2013’s million selling, number 1 record “Long Way Down”, a record that led to Tom being given the highly prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year.
“Wrong Crowd” consists of 11 new songs; a deluxe edition of the album featuring four extra tracks will also be available. Upon pre-order of the album, the title track will be instantly available to download.
The album was produced by Jim Abbiss, who has also produced records for artists including Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Adele.
The video for “Wrong Crowd”, shot in South Africa, was directed by George Belfield (Arthur Beatrice, Richard Hawley, Kwabs) and features a brief section of another unreleased track from the album - “Constellations”.
Winner of the 2013 BRIT Awards Critic’s Choice, Tom Odell released his debut album “Long Way Down” in 2013. The album has sold over 1 million copies to date. His singles “Another Love” and “Real Love” both hit the UK Top 10, with the latter - a cover of a track by The Beatles - used for John Lewis’ Christmas TV ad campaign of 2014.
Tom said of the new album,
“I wanted the songs to sound big and dramatic; big strings and melodies emphasizing the songs further – rich in musicality and holding nothing back. The album follows a narrative of a man held at ransom by his childhood, yearning for it, yearning for nature- a desire for innocence in this perverse world in which he now lives. It’s a fictional story but the emotions and feelings are obviously ones I have felt – though the stories are elaborated and exaggerated. I wanted to create a world with a heightened sense of reality.”
Tracklisting for “Wrong Crowd” as follows:
1.Wrong Crowd
2.Magnetised
3.Concrete
4.Constellations
5.Sparrow
6.Still Getting Used to Being On My Own
7.Silhouette
8.Jealousy
9.Daddy
10.Here I Am
11.Somehow
The deluxe version of the album features a further four tracks:
12.She Don’t Belong To Me
13.Mystery
14.Entertainment
15.I Thought I Knew What Love Was

18 year-old pop starlet Paige Monroe is an exciting, fresh young talent from Portsmouth who is quickly making her mark within the pop scene. She has already played to various sold out London audiences and for the last year Paige has been spending most of her time in various studios, crafting her sound and working with a whole array of writers and producers and is now all set to release her debut EP.
We caught up with Paige shortly after her performance at Portsmouth Summer Show this weekend:
Hey Paige thanks for taking the time to chat to us! So your debut EP is out next Friday (May 13th), how has your journey been to releasing your first EP? Has it been long in the making?
Thank you also! I am very excited about my debut EP - which comes out this Friday!!!!! I've worked hard on it and so has everyone else involved. Months and months in writing sessions, lengthy days demoing loads of songs, and then I spent three weeks solid the studio. The song "Waiting" was actually written back in November 2014 when things had just started taking off, and I didn't know what I was going to do with that song at the time, but I'm glad it's now on the record, as it's almost part of the journey from start to finish.
Is there a message that you want to put out there with this release / did you have a general theme or concept that inspired you?
The main theme of my EP is about accepting, dealing with and overcoming relationships. Some songs on the record have a message that praises a relationship is a positive way, while the others have more of an emotional tone. It's nice how the EP almost has a wave pattern, and you hear all sides of the story.
How about your creative process, what really inspires you to create particular songs?
Mainly my personal experiences, I also get inspiration from people around me or even by listening to other songs and artist. I like to be personal and truthful with lyrics so the story means a lot to me. Sometimes when I write, I like to perform the song in front of the mirror to see how the song itself feels when singing.
Who are would you say your main musical influences are and what really got you into music to begin with?
I would like to think that all music influences me. I just love it; If it sounds good I'll listen. I like everything from pop punk to indie to the heaviest of heavy and even musical theatre. I've been singing even since I was 2, and enjoyed it, so it went from there!
Is there anyone out there at the moment that you would really love to work with?
That's a tough one. I would love to work with Lady Gaga - She is such a natural talent, and is someone who definitely inspires me. She is very musically gifted, covers so many genres of music and has even dominated the fashion and acting world. Gaga is also such a strong female figure for people to look up to. Another artist I would also love to work with would be Tony Bennett, imagine that!
What are your plans for 2016 … what can we expect from you next?
Lots and lots of performing! And I'm writing all the time so maybe another EP, but with a different message and vibe this time. As things in our lives are always changing and so does the story...
Paige Monroe’s debut EP is out this Friday 13th May, check out the single Call It Love here:

British metalcore giants Asking Alexandria will be hitting the stage and kicking off the party in debauched style. With more special guests to be announced, the Kerrang! Awards will once again be the highlight of the rock and showbiz calendar. Tickets are on sale now and available fromwww.kerrangtickets.co.uk
Front runners Biffy Clyro have picked up two nominations this year. The Scottish rock powerhouse up are for Best British Band, but will have to fend off recent chart toppers Bring Me The Horizon, bonafide heavy metal legends Iron Maiden, the political post-hardcore pioneers Enter Shikari and Asking Alexandria. ‘The Biff’ also nabbed themselves a Best Event presented by Kerrang! TV nomination after their spectacular headline set at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.
Best Event presented by Kerrang! TV is set to be a tough call; Guns N Roses shocked recently with the world’s most unlikely reunion which saw Slash,Axl Rose and Duff McKagen on stage for the first time in 23 years. Elsewhere, masked metallers Slipknot came out guns blazing, bringing their trademark explosive mayhem to Alexandra Palace. Surrey rockers You Me At Six get the nod for their benefit show to help with metal outfit The Ghost Inside’s medical fees after a horrific bus crash. Aussie pop-punkers Five Seconds Of Summer will be out representing for their ‘Sounds Live, Feels Live’ tour.
All Time Low get their second nomination of the night, with their hit single ‘Missing You’ up for Best Trackpresented by Kerrang! Radio. They’re up against the almighty Panic! At The Disco for ‘Emporer’s New Clothes’, Brighton’s biggest metalcore exportArchitects with ‘A Match Made In Heaven’, emo rockers Moose Blood’s ‘Honey,’ and Against The Current who are led by YouTuber turned rockstar Chrissy Costanza.
Best Live Band presented by Red Stripe is a truly international affair, with Japan’s teenage metal idolsand last year’s ‘Spirit Of Independence’ winnersBabyMetal picking up a nomination after their huge Wembley Arena show. Tour, scrappy Philadelphia three-piece Beach Slang, Kansas Missouri’s own Beautiful Bodies and Canadian alt-punk rockers The Dirty Nil.
Kerrang! Editor James McMahon said: “This year’s Kerrang! Awards nominations are the definition of strong. All Killer, No Filler as our 2016 Kerrang! Tour headliners Sum 41 might say. There’s no category you look at and think, ‘yup, Guns N’ Roses are going to walk away with that…’, and I think that’s testament to just what a strong rock scene- globally, and closer to home – we exist within right now. Normally when I have to write quotes for press releases like this, I say something like, “OMG, I’m so excited about the night!” but to be honest, I just feel a bit sad about it. It’s going to be a bloodbath. Many brilliant bands are going to go home disappointed. I might start drinking now. It goes without saying, mind, that Kerrang! Is very, very proud to be surrounded by as much talent as we have been at any point in our 35 year old history. But yeah, definitely starting drinking now…"
Other categories include: Best Film, Best Fanbase, Best Video Game, Best Comic Book, Best Festival and more.
For the first time, Kerrang! is teaming up with Help Musicians UK (HMUK), the country’s leading music charity. Whilst HMUK is focused on helping musicians at every stage of their careers and lives, the charity will be launching its landmark #hearformusicians musician’s hearing campaign. As Chief Executive, Richard Robinson, explains: “If you’ve got a reputation for turning your amps up to ELEVEN, now’s the time to think about how your hearing is suffering and how best to protect it. Help Musicians UK is absolutely delighted to be at the Kerrang! Awards and we’ll be at the centre of the mayhem – but we might have a few slightly serious messages too. As the UK’s leading music charity we’re so pleased Kerrang! have let us in and you’ll hear more about us in the magazine in coming months.”
The Kerrang! Awards are always guaranteed to be the biggest party in town, and this year is no exception. With an incredible list of home grown acts, huge rock stars, and a live show for the very first time, this is set to be the biggest and best Kerrang! awards yet. Voting is now open.
Sponsors for the Kerrang! Awards 2016 include Troxy, Zippo, Strongbow, Kerrang! TV, Kerrang! Radio. Red Stripe is the official Beer Sponsor whilst Fireball is the official whisky partner.

Their first release since their critically lauded 2014 debut LP Blame Confusion, the EP sees the band checking in after a year of near-constant touring. Having played more than 200 shows in 2014-2015 with the likes of Pity Sex, Makthaverskan, Nothing, PUP, Single Mothers and Metz, the EP reflects that road weariness with a group of songs that vibrate at a lower frequency, documenting the waiting, the bleary-eyed confusion and the blur of days that come with life on the road.
The EP serves as a melancholic deconstruction of the '90s slacker ethos explored on their first LP, but it also charts Solids' transition into a wider and more experimental sound, borrowing strands from Dinosaur Jr., Hum and Unwound and coiling them into an anxious, alienated sound that's all their own. The final product is a snapshot of a band that's travelled 5000 miles in 19 minutes; a band that's chained itself to the road in search of inspiration.
The fuzzy shoe-gaze sound is perfect for a Monday morning thinking of far off places, imagining being out with nature in a lazy daze while the intermissions of summer festival rock style breakdowns complete this really well put together full sound.
The tapestry of noise conveys a musical journey with elements of a Doors-like wandering style and almost a fuzzy Sonic Youth in places and would not be out of place in a 90's slacker movie.
Shine has a baggy Madchester feel to it yet more instrumental, sophisticated and grown-up. In the chilled out laid back style you can almost feel the sun on your skin as the song fades out like waves lapping on the shore.

Editors’ last album, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ (2013) was the high watermark for the band in a ten year career that has seen plenty of highlights. Racking up Top Ten placings across Europe, (including number ones in Holland and Belgium and a fourth consecutive Top Ten in the UK), the album propelled the band to headline shows at Werchter and Lowlands in Benelux and high profile slots at Glastonbury and Reading, amongst a list of dates that spanned four continents and over one hundred venues and festivals, including their first ever shows in Africa.
‘The Weight Of Your Love’ followed Editors’ two consecutive UK Number One UK Albums, ‘An End Has A Start’ (2007) and ‘In This Light And On This Evening’ (2009). Their debut album, ‘The Back Room’ (2005) has now sold over half a million copies in the UK alone whilst the band have combined album sales of over 2 million across the world.
The Manic Street Preachers originally released ‘Everything Must Go’ in 1996, it was the band’s first massive commercial success and they are touring the 20th anniversay of the album this year. The record was certified triple platinum in the UK and went on to sell over a million copies and bag multiple Brit awards. It features four top ten singles (‘A Design for Life’, ‘Everything Must Go’, ‘Kevin Carter’ and ‘Australia’). Touring the record, the band played an early show in the tiny basement bar of the Haçienda to headlining to 20,000 people at Manchester’s Nynex Arena in less than twelve months. Although some songs from ‘Everything Must Go’ are still cornerstones of Manic Street Preachers gigs, several of the album tracks haven’t been played live since ’96.
Yorkshire’s finest purveyors of whacked-out sounds Allusondrugs have today revealed a 100% live in the studio with no overdubs performance video for their track ‘Handicapped’, recorded in March 2016.

Aside from playing a free stripped back set this Saturday 16th April in the afternoon at Jumbo Records in Leeds as part of the shop’s Record Store Day celebrations, the band have a small handful of local-ish shows announced for May 2016 – details below.
Commenting on their in-store performance and RSD, guitarist Damian Hughes says: “Jumbo has always been, and will continue to be, an important part of the music scene in Leeds. They stocked our early releases, sold our gig tickets and just helped us out like they do for loads of small bands in and around Leeds."
"Some people are complete strangers to independent record stores. They might have never set foot in one, it might never have occurred to them that there would be a lot of great music there for them to discover; they might not even know that such a place exists. For some people going to an in-store gig of a band that they like might be their first ever experience of an independent record shop and the start of a great journey through all the great music they'll find there.”
The band are currently writing and demoing new material, having just finished a successful stint on the ScuzzTV UK Throwdown tour alongsideMax Raptor and Press To Meco.
